Volunteer Opportunities

Do you want to make a difference in your community?

Do you know about the work of the East Scarborough Storefront?

Do you know the issues affecting your community?

Have you considered applying for a volunteer position with the Storefront Steering Committee?

We are looking for people with diverse experiences to make up the Committee. Ideal applicants will:

• Understand and appreciate what the Storefront is trying to do
• Care about the East Scarborough Community
• Be interested in strategic planning and policy development
• Be comfortable working with a diverse group of community members and agencies
• Be able to commit to a monthly meeting (third Thursday of the month from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.) for one year
• Be connected with one or more local groups (cultural, religious, business, social)
• Be interested in the ideas and structure behind community programs
• Take a problem solving approach to decision making

The Storefront Steering committee is responsible for developing the framework and foundation upon which the Storefront is structured.

Interested applicants should provide a brief letter explaining their interest in the Steering Committee (and a resume if you have one) addressed to the Storefront Nominations Committee. Applications can be left at the Storefront in care of the Co-ordinator of Volunteers, or mailed to:
